1-World Charity Shops plans for 2019 include increasing Community support as
follows
Donating to over 40 local organisations supporting families affected by illness,
hardship and disadvantages.

LOCAL COMMUNITY SUPPORT
1-World Charity Shops is proud to have given funding to over 60 organisations over
the past 2 years. The aim of this program, is selecting small organisations that are
giving fantastic support and not receiving enough funding from other avenues.
Customers shopping at 1-World can feel proud to be helping fellow Queensland
families affected by illness, hardship and disadvantages.
How can I do more to help?
Volunteering some of your time in the Shop or by Donating unwanted clothing and
household items to 1-World Charity Shops.
VOLUNTEERING AT 1-WORLD CHARITY SHOPS
The Browns Plains Shop has a structured work experience program with social interaction for school
and TAFE students, youth, mature and long-term unemployed, semi-retired and retired people
volunteering their time. 1-World Charity Shops are proud to provide a workplace with diverse skills,
backgrounds and experience. Volunteers gain skills, experience and confidence that will help them
gain employment. So far, 6 Volunteers have been employed internally and several external
employment placings have been achieved.
VOLUNTEERS VIETNAM, WRITTEN BY DANG VAN QUOC VIET, THE FOUNDER AND MANAGER
At Volunteers Vietnam, we run various volunteer programs with the aim of improving the quality of
life for the underprivileged people in Central Vietnam. Founded in 2004, we have been providing
volunteers to support with health care and education programs at the children’s homes, social
support centres and disadvantaged schools.
1-World Charity Shops have been providing funding to Volunteers Vietnam for over 4 years and the
following programs are being sponsored;
- Extra food, nutrition and medicine
- Extra care givers
- Needed supplies and materials for physiotherapy and mental therapy
- Education programs for children with special needs
- Needed supplies and resources for English teaching programs 1-World Charity Shops
sponsorship for Quarter 1, 2019 has improved the lives for around 500 people in our
program.
Through the 1-World sponsorship they
have been able to commence building a
new bedroom area for the children, a
small Medical Clinic & Library, although
not fully completed it is well underway.
Through 1-World sponsorship they
have been able to afford constructing a
Football Field for the children to play on,
as you can see with the photos this has
been used with much enthusiasm.”
